Got Stains ? Product Review - Kids N Pets Instant All-Purpose Stain & Odor Remover - GET IT FREE!
I had the opportunity to try out a Brand New Stain & Odor Remover product today and fell in love with it! For about 10 years, we have had hardwood floors and/or the laminate flooring throughout our house and at the time I loved it. Then I began to really hate it because of the dust accumulation daily! So, when we moved into our new home this past November, we chose to install carpet. I love it actually, but over the last couple monthes have been reminded why I grew to be so fond of hardwood and laminate flooring with kids and pets in our house!
Can anyone say spills, accidents, pets, Stains...and more stains? Yes, now I remember why I didn't like carpet! Our carpet that is less than 6 monthes old is already showing signs of wear just from the stains alone!
With 2 boys, my hubby, myself and 2 cats, along with my oldest daughter and GRANDbaby who come to stay at least 1 or 2 days a week, I think my household puts any cleaning product to the test!
So, I got this very large bottle (20 oz.) of "Kids 'N' Pets" Instant All Purpose Stain & Odor Remover, to see if any of this damage could be reversed. The bottle states it is "Professional Strength Carpet Cleaner" and is "Guaranteed" to eliminate stains and odors. We shall see!
I've used the foaming carpet cleaners and they never seem to do much except make it smell fresh...no help for serious stains! I've tried most all of the trigger handled spray products for stains, which are so expensive and I will only purchase them when they are on sale AND I have a great coupon. This product can be purchased for as little as 5 bucks, so I was skeptical, but hopeful!
The first thing I like about it is that it really is a very large bottle that is full and because it is more of a "pour" type spout application, you have more control over how much you use. For the larger stains, I was able to well saturate them. The bottle directions told me to wait 5 minutes after applying to a newer stain or up to an hour for an older or more stubborn dried stain.I'm not so patient, so I only waited 5 minutes on the stains you see above.
Stain #1 is who knows what! These spotty stains are in the doorway area between my living room and kitchen hall so it is a major traffic spot. The stains have caught my eye every time I walk through and all I could think after trying a couple things, was that I was going to have to get a throw rug to cover them up! hehehe
Stain #2 is some sort of fruit punch that dripped from my GRANDbaby's sippy cup. RED PUNCH like koolaid, which is always one of those that I know will not come out!
After waiting 5 minutes on stain #1, I blotted the spots with a clean white kitchen towel. WOW! The towel seemed to just soak up all the "dirt" without even scrubbing! I would normally scrub back and forth and then in a circular motion and that was not necessary! My arms were thankful for that!
Excitedly on to stain #2....
This is a tough one! We all know that red dye #whatever, is always the worst. So, 5 minutes didn't do much. I was a little too impatient with that one! So, I reapplied to the spots and decided to let it soak in longer this time. I waited 30 minutes and tested one of the spots. Patted the towel over it and peeled it back to see if it worked. WOOHOO! It was not completely gone, but it was definately faded more and not as large and visible. That's a definate improvement for bright red stains on a very light beige carpet! I allowed the other spots to soak about 15 more minutes and they were virtually invisible! Yeah!
Now, part of what I like about this product is its ability to remove stains AND odors from many of those bad mommy day messes that we are all too familiar with! You know what I mean....the diaper blowouts, puking viruses and the like that we really don't want to think about once it's over, much less be reminded by the stains and smells!
There are several other things that have won me over to this product! It is completely non-toxic and child safe, with no harsh chemicals. There are no "cover up" perfumes! When I have used the foaming carpet cleaners in the aerosol can, the vapors alone will choke you up! Definately none of that with this product, which is great with a toddler around the house and all over the floor!
Since this cleaner can be purchased for around $5 in most stores and actually does what it says, it is now a "Frugal Fabulous Find"!

Monday's Money Maker Tips - Find the hidden money in your house!
Years ago when my kids were just babies, thankfully I grasped onto a very valuable lesson for keeping my household "clutter" free. That's one of the reasons I began selling items on Ebay, Amazon, Flea Markets, and also began using Consignment Shops to make some extra monthly income, while also recycling our clothing and household items.
There are so many lessons to learn about "De-cluttering" your home. I think what hit me most, at first, was the idea that the condition of your home truly reflects the condition of your life. In most cases, if your home is full of "clutter" and you can't seem to find something when you need it (because it's mixed in with all the stuff you don't need!) then most likely, your life in general has those episodes of chaos and no direction.
Nowadays, this is much more talked about then when I grabbed hold of it 15 years ago! They say most families have at least $500 sitting in their home...things they no longer need or use. That's motivation enough for me!
The rule in our house is if we don't use it within 6 monthes, it's time to either give it to someone that will or sell it and make some extra cash ! I stick to this firmly! Every couple monthes ( at least!) I go through drawers and closets. I get a laundry basket and start pulling what is no longer used or needed. Items in best condition get sold and others get donated. It's just that simple!
Biblically, as many of you know, I was also inspired to become a better steward of ALL that God has entrusted to me. For only when you prove to be faithful over the little, will God increase you to be faithful over much more!
Luke 16:10
He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
Matthew 25:23
Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.
Think of all the families that now save money buying thier families clothing, toys and other necessities and household items from consignment shops, ebay, amazon, flea markets, yard sales & thrift stores! I'm one of those, too, of course :)
So, look around your house and you'll be amazed at what you find that will quickly turn into cash, while also helping another family to save money on needed items.
How much money do you have laying around the house? Is it time to have a yard sale or make a big donation to your local Goodwill or other community ministry or thrift shop? Or maybe it's time to test your skills with ebay! This is what started all of my money making ventures...exchanging what we didn't need anymore for things we do need and/or the $$ to get them!
Right now is the best time of year to do that "De-cluttering" and have a yard sale! The quickest way to get rid of the clutter and make some extra money!

I was so excited when I got my mail today! I had a rather large box, but haven't ordered anything big that I could remember, so I couldn't wait to open it! I love surprises:) And this was a really good one!
You may remember my post about our Huge Electric Bills and ways I am trying to bring our bill down to size(Find It HERE)
Well, we have electricity through Duke Energy (also known as Duke Power) and I had searched their site for lots of tips on ways to lower your power bill and such. They had a link to register to receive energy savings tips, etc. and so of course I joined, and forgot all about it. I just figured I'd get some emails with tips to cut energy use. But I got a HUGE surprise today! When I opened this huge box, there was a pamphlet from Duke Energy with energy saving tips, etc. and a notecard thanking me for participating in their program. In the box are 6 ( yes, 6, six !) Boxes with new CFL bulbs! There are 3 - 20 watt (equiv to 75 watt) Compact Fluorescent bulbs and 3 - 13 watt (equiv to 60 watt) CFL's !
As I mentioned in the earlier post, I've been replacing bulbs in my house one by one when I find a great sale and coupon matchup. Well, this was the motherload !! Hehehe !! I went crazy in the house, searching for bulbs to replace !

Get $4 off $20 at CVS !
So I stumbled upon a really great "rewards" type program for Recycling! RecycleBank.com partners with cities and haulers to reward households for recycling. Households earn RecycleBank Points that can be used to shop at over 1,500 local and national businesses.
And of course, it's not available in my area :( BUT, even if you can't collect rewards for your daily/weekly curbside recycling, you can still participate and get points.
Here's a quick way to snag $4 off $20 at CVS !
1) Create a RecycleBank Account on their site
2) Login and then go the Go to the "Earn Points" Tab
3) Join the Ebay Green Team for 50 points
4) Go to "Get Rewards" and choose "Pharmacies" from the list
5) Redeem 50 points for $4 off $20 at CVS
They will mail you the coupon ! Pretty simple:)
There are other ways to earn points and also lots of things to redeem them on. Many seem to require a lot of points, but if you go through the sections, you'll find quite a few really good coupon and savings offers. I mailed in some old cell phones and mp3 players that were broken and got points for them! They even pay for the postage to mail items to them, you just print it and attach to package! Pretty nice way to Recycle, I'd say it's a definate Frugal Fabulous Find !
